Eddata II

Posted by librarian2 last modified Apr 07, 2009 07:22 PM

Support for EdData II comes from the United States Agency for International Development, Office of Education in the Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade (EGAT/ED). With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), RTI and subcontractors DevTech Systems and the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.Since 1997, a program called DHS EdData has supplied household survey-based data on education enrollment, repetition, dropout, demand, and satisfaction. The data are used for planning, monitoring, and evaluating education policies and programs in countries worldwide. DHS EdData initially began as an add-on to the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) that has been conducted in more than 70 countries over the past 20 years. The education component has evolved into a complete, separate survey but maintains a link to the DHS, allowing researchers to view health and education factors for sampled households simultaneously.
